On Wednesday, a woman wearing a Gorilla mask egged Republican gubernatorial recall candidate Larry Elder in Venice, forcing him to cancel his campaign trip. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva chastised left-wing politicians for their bias and for remaining silent on the issue. He also stated that because the woman was wearing a gorilla mask, which has a history of white supremacists using ape imagery to dehumanize Black people, he will pursue the case as a "Hate Crime".

Sheriff Villanueva implied that this all is possible because of "Woke Privilege", which he defined as the right of a white woman to wear a gorilla mask and attack a black man without the fear of being labeled as a racist.

"QUESTION: How is this not a hate crime? ANSWER: Because "woke privilege" means a white woman can wear a gorilla mask and attack a black man without fear of being called a racist. Where is the outrage from our politicians?" said Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villenueva via a post on twitter.

While the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the crime and searching for the woman, Larry Elder supporters are calling this a total double standard because there has been no media or political outrage over the incident, which appears to be racially motivated at the moment. The Los Angeles Times, a well-known local news outlet, was also slammed by users for downplaying the incident in their Twitter posts.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democratic politicians have remained silent on the issue that has enraged Sheriff Villanueva, who is also a Democrat. He has also been accused of being right-leaning by local media since taking over as the Sheriff of Los Angeles County.

Larry Elder, the popular radio host, and Republican gubernatorial recall candidate refused to label the individual as racist while talking to Fox News and instead lambasted his opponents for remaining silent about the incident.

"I’m not somebody who pulls out the race card the way Barack Obama does, the way Al Sharpton does, the way CNN does, the way Black Lives Matter does, Maybe it was just an idiot. Maybe it was just a fool. Maybe it was just someone who doesn’t like Larry Elder." said Larry Elder while talking to Fox News on Thursday.

Elder described the situation as "very angry and very ugly". He also used the opportunity to take a shot at Gov. Newsom by adding that the woman might have been one of those 20,000 people released early from prison.

"She may be one of the 20,000 people released early from our prison. Many of the serious offenders were violent criminals under this governor. I don’t know. We Has two DAs vulnerable to crime," said Elder.

Rep. gubernatorial recall candidate Larry Elder also attempted to highlight the blatant hypocrisy of the left-wing Democrats while talking to Fox News, claiming that if he had been a Democrat, this incident would have sparked widespread outrage and been labeled as "systematic racism".

"All I know is: if I were a liberal and somebody wearing a gorilla mask who was a White woman threw an egg at me, the left would be screaming about systemic racism" said Larry Elder while talking to Fox News on Thursday.

Meanwhile, many people, including Larry Elder supporters and sites like The New York Post, have slammed major media outlets like CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times for treating the incident as if it never happened.
