Along Main Street in Lititz, you'll find Cherry Acres. This business specializes in reclaimed barn wood furniture and live edge slabs, and it is one of the most unique shops you'll find in the heart of Lititz, PA.

Side-gig success story

It all started with Lancaster native Craig Wolf and his side-gig. Wolf was in the business of tearing down old buildings and selling the lumber for extra money. He started picking out pieces he liked, and decided to hand-craft furniture from it. One thing led to another, and shortly his pieces became popular at local shows, and he started traveling out-of-state to feature his pieces.

As the side business grew, Wolf started working with several Pennsylvania Amish Craftsmen to create Cherry Acres' pieces of furniture.

This collaborative effort offers furniture like shutter cabinets with classic Pennsylvania Dutch designs carved into the wood panels. From old house shutters, they build the cabinets to fit the doors. All carvings on the shutter cabinets are hand-done by a local Amishman, whose wife also does their decorative painted pieces.

As the business kept growing, Cherry Acres realized they needed a storefront location customers could visit. Wolf found a location on Main Street in Lititz, near the town square, and this is where you'll find them today.

Not your usual furniture shop

In this spacious shop, there's a large, constantly changing selection with pieces of Steampunk, Talavera, Live Edge end tables, tabletops, and dining sets in all shapes and sizes. This is not like browsing around in IKEA or a furniture chain store.

Every piece is unique and you can tell a lot of time has been spent crafting each item to perfection. To create beautiful furniture from old wood, Wolf hand-selects wood that is chosen as reclaimed lumber, this wood can range from barn siding, to barn and house floors, and also large beams and joists. The pieces he uses have naturally aged for 100 to 200 years and give a unique and original character to the furniture. You will find pieces in natural stain and in paints with antique glazes.
