There are newspaper reports of giant findings in Kentucky from November 24, 1911. Hugh Yates uncovered these specific skeletons in Pine Grove, Kentucky.
The article states that it is believed that these skeletons were evidence that there was a prehistoric race that has yet to be spoken about, as many findings have been debunked as hoaxes or mastodons.
However, at this time in history, many giant or extra small skeletons were found, or at least what was found did make the news. Yates was a prosperous land owner, and one day, while excavating beneath a high cliff, he came upon a grave site.
Inside the grave, he discovered a human skeleton; it was said that it was more significant than the average human, and they described it as having giant proportions. As it was such an odd discovery, he asked around his neighbors, and they all came to his land, armed with picks, and made their way to the cliff where the skeleton was found and began searching.
They made their way to the side of the cliff and found an ancient sepulcher; it was ¨crowded with human skeletons¨. Some of the skeletons were even larger than the first skeleton found, and one of them measured 12 feet tall. They found skeletons, jewels, strange ornaments, cooking vessels, and what they believed were musical instruments.
Reportedly, this was not the end of the story, as they continued searching for more artifacts. However, there was no other information available.
This leaves many to question whether they were giant skeletons found; according to reports, there were many hoaxes. In 1934, Aleš Hrdlička, curator of anthropology at the Smithsonian Institute, investigated.
The Smithsonian opposed the myth that an ¨ancient white race¨ was the Mound Builders. He blamed amateur anthropologists for being unfamiliar with human anatomy. Hrdlička stated that the length of the femur bone fooled most of those who examined the bones, and many lacked experience in the human bone structure.
The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
The second verse that refers to the Nephilim in the Bible is Numbers 13:32–33:
And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
The third passage is from Ezekiel 32:17–32:
They lie with the warriors, the Nephilim of old, who descended to Sheol with their weapons of war. They placed their swords beneath their heads, and their shields upon their bones, for the terror of the warriors was upon the land of the living.
This leads many of us to question whether there is an ancient race of Giants that did exist and the legend is true, or is it just all made up and is one big hoax.
