PHOENIX, AZ — Shemer Art Center opens classes for adults for all experience levels, from beginning to advanced.
1. Studio Painting with Sue Hunter
Students will be taught to develop their painting style while enhancing their technical skills and later on, be encouraged to add other media to their paintings.
Price: $280
Date: Every Wednesday at 9.30 - 11.30 a.m, from September 1 - October 20, 2021
2. Printmaking: Silkscreen, Intaglio, Woodcut, Linoleum Printing with Larry Nisula
Students will learn the basics of silkscreen printing using photo emulsion and cut stencils. The instructor will teach students the process of creating intaglio, woodcut, and linoleum prints using common techniques. This class is for beginner to intermediate level students.
Price: $280 plus $35 material fee

3. Intermediate & Advanced Ceramics: Color and Texture with Danielle Wood
In this class, students can explore color and texture with different glazing techniques including cone 5 glazes, decals, paper transfers, slip trailing, sgraffito, mishima, and lusters. This class is for intermediate to advanced students only.
Price: $280 plus $35 material fee

4. Oil and Cold Wax Medium: An Introduction and Way Beyond with Barbara Bagan
Students will explore various surfaces such as oil paper, multimedia artboard, and cradled boards. The instructor will demonstrate techniques for "mark-making", scraping, and how to add collage, stencils, and other material to the oil and cold wax piece.

Date: Every Friday at 1.00 - 4.00 p.m, from September 10 - October 1, 2021
