Are you a Harry Potter Fan? Do you live near Kent, Ohio? Next weekend, July 28th and 29th, is Kent's Wizardly Weekend. Come hang out in Downtown Kent and have a fun wizardly experience. Read on to see some of the magical events that will be occurring.

The Run That Shall Not Be Named

This year marks the 7th annual Run That Shall Not Be Named. It is a 5 3/4 K Fun Run that is happening on Friday, July 28. It is non-competitive and takes the runners on a journey through the Kent State campus. It starts at 6:00 pm on the Lester Lefton Esplanade. It will cost you $30 to participate and everyone gets a "Run That Shall Not Be Named" medal, socks, and bib. Registration is limited to 250.

Par for the Curse – Putt Putt Golf

Taking place on Sat. July 29, from noon-5 pm, is Par for the Curse, a miniature golf competition. You can check in for this event at 154 N. Water St. at the Main Street Kent tent. You will get a drawstring backpack, scorecard/map, and a house-colored golf ball. You can check in from noon to 2 pm but can continue to play until 5 pm.

Vendor Village

Make your way to Erie St. on Sat. July 29 to check out Vendor Village. There will be more than forty vendors there offering hand-crafted merchandise from 11 am to 6 pm. You can find items like art, cake pops, plants, candles, henna, and more.

Mythical Creature Story Time

Head on over to Kent Free Library on Sat., July 29 at 10 am for a story time full of dragons and unicorns. This event is intended for children K and younger, but everyone is welcome. After the story is done, you can pick up a craft to take home. You must register ahead of time, starting one week before the event.
