Ballot question asks about zoning board changes
- A May 2022 ballot question is asking Philadelphia voters if changes should be made to the city's zoning board. Right now, the Zoning Board of Adjustments is a five-member independent commission with Philadelphia's Department of Planning and Development. The question asks if the board should be expanded to seven members who meet a certain set of qualifications.
M. Knight looking for extras in Philly suburbs
- M. Night Shyamalan is shooting his next movie, "Knock at the Cabin," in the suburbs of Philadelphia and is looking for some locals to play extras. The Philly native has shown his hometown love in a bunch of his motion pictures, having films like "The Sixth Sense," "Unbreakable" and "Split" be set in the City of Brotherly Love. "Knock at the Cabin" will star Dave Bautista and is being described as an apocalyptic horror movie.
Sixers close out series in Toronto
- After dropping Games 4 and 5, the Philadelphia 76ers emphatically put their foot down on Thursday night and finished off the Toronto Raptors in six games. Joel Embiid and James Harden combined for 55 points en route to a 132-97 victory. Tyrese Maxey added 25 of his own points and the Sixers advanced to the second round to face the top-seeded Miami Heat.
Eagles trade for A.J. Brown at draft
- The Philadephia Eagles entered Thursday night with two first-round picks and left with one of the best defensive tackles in this draft class and a superstar wide receiver. The Eagles traded the 18th and 101st picks to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for A.J. Brown, who they immediately signed to a four-year $100 million extension. Brown put up 869 yards on 63 catches last year in 13 games. He joined Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis as Philadelphia's big draft night acquisitions.
