SEPTA releases info on how to deal with potential strike

  • With a potential work stoppage looming in the event of SEPTA and its workers not reaching a contract agreement, the company released information on how riders can deal with the strike. The page lists which SEPTA services would still run in the event of a strike and states that transit passes purchased before the stoppage are eligible for a full or partial refund.

Heavy rain hits Philadelphia on Tuesday

  • Philadelphia is expected to continue experiencing heavy rain throughout the day on Tuesday. This morning the city saw strong winds and pockets of rain. There is supposed to be a lull in the downpour this afternoon before more strong winds blow in precipitation tonight. The inclement weather has already multiple caused traffic accidents around the city.

More wiretaps as Dougherty trial reaches 12th day

  • Wiretaps were played in court during the corruption trial of union leader John Dougherty. Dougherty is caught on tape talking to City Councilman Bobby Henon about the city's deal with Comcast. Dougherty allegedly bribed Henon to act on his behalf. Dougherty can be heard on tape stating that he intended to hold up the negotiations until he could secure jobs for his union members.

Eagles give Joe Flacco back to Jets

  • The Philadelphia Eagles traded backup quarterback Joe Flacco back to the New York Jets on Monday for a sixth-round pick. The Jets traded for Flacco since their starting quarterback, rookie Zack Wilson, is out 2-4 weeks after injuring his PCL. Flacco did not play a single snap this year for the Eagles. The pick can become a fifth-round pick depending on how much Flacco plays.
