The Uinta Mountains are a chain of mountains in northeastern Utah. They go a short distance into northwest Colorado and into southwest Wyoming.

They are a subrange of the Rocky Mountains and are the highest range in the contiguous United States running from east to west. They are approximately 100 miles east of Salt Lake City.

The Uinta Mountain range has peaks which go from 11,000 to 13,528 feet. The highest point is Kings Peak, which is the highest point in Utah.
