The scenery at Moab, Utah, is outstanding with red rocks and an unusual landscape of rare beauty.
There is a Moab Music Festival held there which ran this year August 21 until September 15. Thousands of people descended on the area to hear wonderful music in the outdoors amidst the spectacular landscape.
The Moab Music Festival was founded in 1992 by musicians who were based in New York. Violist and Artistic Director Leslie Tomkins and pianist/conductor and Music Director Michae Barrett were capitivated by the beauty of the red rocks at Moab. They wanted to combine that magical landscape with the joys of making music.
The two week festival brings in outstanding musicians and provides education as well as entertainment. They are committed to music education and cultural enrichment in the Moab area.
The 31st annual Moab Music Festival in 2023 featured 53 artists, 23 concerts, 13 wilderness and historic venues, and three weeks of world-class music.
If you missed it this year, you can check into the program for 2024.
