Nathan and Ruth Hale started their first theatre in Glendale, California, as a theatre in the round. It was a popular enterprise which regularly sold out. They thought they would retire in their 70s and moved back to Utah. Retirement seemed to not be meant for them so they opened a beautiful, new theatre in West Valley. Their children and family members have continued to run the theatre since the passing of Nathan and Ruth Hale.
A partnership was formed with Sandy City. The facility in Sandy was designed and built. They opened the doors at The Hale Centre Theatre at the Mountain America Performing Arts Center in November 2017.
One of the community outreach programs offered by the Hale Centre Theatre is a series of performances by various groups during the Summer months outdoors on the grounds outside the theatre. Various community groups are invited to provide a free program for the public.
The last community program provided for the Summer of 2023 was put on by a group of Filipino Americans. They provided dance and music which reflected the culture of the Philippines. It was a chance to enjoy fine ethnic entertainment.
The Board President for the Hale Centre Theatre welcomed people and thanked them for coming. He invited the public to look forward to the free events which they will once again provide during the Summer of 2024.
