California has many beautiful areas to visit
Oceanside, California, may not be one of the main tourist destinations in California such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, but it is a beautiful area which has wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean and beaches along with many fine restaurants and places to visit.
Sometimes referred to as O'side, Oceanside is located in the most northern part of San Diego County along the coastline. It is about an hour away from downtown San Diego and the San Diego International Airport. It is around an hour and a half drive from Los Angeles. It is a central location to Southern California's largest cities of Los Angeles and San Diego.
Oceanside is considered as a desirable location for a weekend getaway from those two cities.
The city of Oceanside was incorporated on July 3, 1888. They had 1,000 residents at that time.
Some of the fun outdoor activities which are listed on the Oceanside website are: Beaches, The Pier, the Harbor, Whale Watching, Fishing, Surfing, Golfing, Biking, Hiking, and Sky Diving. There is also the opportunity to watch the ocean, the waves, and the water. There are also indoor activities.
The Welcome Center of that area is at 928 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. The Oceanside Harbor is featured as a place to visit with beautiful scenery and lots of places to eat.
There are shops and restaurants along the Oceanside Harbor where visitors can get all types of good food and souvenirs of their trip to Oceanside.
