The beautiful blossoms bring out thousands of visitors
Every year when Spring approaches in the capital city of the United States, throngs of people flock to Washington, D.C. to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms. Some people plan vacations around the blooming of the pink blossoms with the hope that they time it right to see the beauty.
Spring is a beautiful time of the year for local residents of the area who look forward each year to the blossoms coming out in their full glory. They plan outings and make sure not to miss the spectacular blossoms which nature provides.
The blossoms generally come out at the latter part of March or early in April. This year apparently has brought the blossoms out early as they were said to be at their peak on March 23, which is weeks earlier than the historical average peak which is normally about April 4.
There is a National Cherry Blossom Festival held in Washington, D.C. each year. It is two weeks of celebrations around the cherry blossoms. The Festival started earlier this year than usual because of the early blooming.
The beautiful cherry trees which provide such spectacular beauty each year in the Spring were a gift from the country of Japan years ago. They frame the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. and are seen in many other areas around the nation's capital as well.
The cherry blossoms are a huge tourist attraction which brings thousands of visitors to Washington, D.C. in the Spring. They are a sight to behold and something that everyone should be able to experience (either in person or through photographs).
