A famous saxophonist will perform with Synthesis
Here is an opportunity to experience an excellent musical performance by an outstanding saxophonist who will be on the program with BYU's Synthesis.
Brigham Young University (BYU) has excellent Fine Arts programs which include music and dance. There are many choirs, orchestras, and dance performances throughout the year which showcase the talents of these young university students.
Legendary Tenor Saxophonist Donny McCaslin will be on hand to accompany BYU's Synthesis. McCaslin is a renowned New York jazz musician. He has performed and recorded with David Bowie, Maria Schneider, and others. This jazz concert will feature some of the original music of McCaslin.
The Synthesis Concert will be held at 7:00 PM on March 30. It will be at the Provo High School Auditorium. It is a new venue located at 1199 Lakeshore Drive in Provo.
Admission is FREE, and tickets are not required. The seating will be general admission and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. It is for anyone ages 6 and older.
The organizer of the event is the BYU School of Music. The new BYU Music Building is under construction so the concert will be at Provo High School.
The strength of the School of Music lies in its resources — students, faculty, facilities, the university, and the community. There are approximately 450 music majors in the School of Music pursuing their dreams while moving towards graduation. [from the website]
