A downtown location
The Hotel Utah was an iconic and historic landmark in downtown Salt Lake City for decades. It was generally considered as the finest hotel in the city for years. Famous people would stay there. It is conveniently located in close proximity to several popular venues for entertainment in Salt Lake City.
The building is now owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was renamed The Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is used for various events, offices, and businesses of the Church as well as having some fine dining available there.
The Nauvoo (formerly called The Nauvoo Cafe) is on the main floor of The Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is now open for lunch on Mondays through Fridays from 11 am to 3 pm. Other restaurants in that building are The Roof, The Garden, and The Lion House Pantry.
The Joseph Smith Memorial Building is located across from Temple Square at 15 East South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City. It is close to the City Creek Shopping Center.
The Nauvoo website says that they serve healthy and fresh food of high quality. They have salads, sandwiches, soups, desserts, and beverages as well as some specialty items such as Turkey Pot Pie and Lion House Rolls which are a favorite of many diners. The rolls are also available to purchase in packages of one dozen.
Dining at The Nauvoo means enjoying beautiful scenery next to the Temple Square Gardens as well as eating healthy and tasty food. It is highly recommended as a good place for lunch in downtown Salt Lake City..
