Their food and service are excellent
Almost hidden away in a wooded neighborhood in the Southeast part of Salt Lake City is an Italian restaurant by the name of Tuscany. Rasmus Knudsen was an original pioneer of the area back in 1878. He had a flour mill which operated there for around thirty years. His son later established various businesses in the area including Knudsen's Inn.
The address of Tuscany is 2832 East 6200 South. They are open from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Over the next seventy years, the restaurant changed management several times and became "Dyer's Inn," "The Heather," and "The Bridlewood Restaurant." It became Tuscany in 1994 when former Utah Jazz basketball star, Mark Eaton, became an owner along with Aaron Ferer and Associates. They redesigned and enlarged the restaurant which became "Tuscany."
Tuscany is an award-winning Italian fine dining restaurant. It serves excellent food amidst beautiful forest scenery. Zagat has rated Tuscany as one of America's top restaurants.
Diners are advised to save room for dessert as the choices are as tasty as they are attractive.
A special treat for patrons of Tuscany had been to occasionally see Mark Eaton while dining at the restaurant. Eaton was born in 1957 in Inglewood, California. He played his entire NBA career after college with the Utah Jazz basketball team. He was with the team from 1982-1993. He made his home in Park City, Utah, after retiring from professional basketball. He was a star center with the Jazz.
Unfortunately, Eaton died in May 2021 at the age of 64. He had become an avid bicyclist and had a bicycle accident near his home which caused his death.
Tuscany is recommended as a fine dining restaurant serving excellent food in the Salt Lake Valley.
