Chicago is an American rock band. The current lineup consists of Ramon “Ray” Yslas (percussion), Brett Simons (bass and backing vocals), Neil Donell (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), Ray Hermann (saxophones, flute, backing vocals, and clarinet), Walfredo Reyes Jr. (drums), Lou Pardini (keyboards and lead vocals), Keith Howland (guitar and backing vocals), Walter Parazaider (saxophones, backing vocals, clarinet, and flute), James Pankow (backing vocals and trombone), Lee Loughnane (backing vocals, flugelhorn, and trumpet), and Robert Lamm (keyboards and lead vocals). In 1969, Chicago released its debut album, Chicago Transit Authority. The group has gone through several lineup changes since its formation in 1967. In September 2008, Chicago was ranked at 13 on a list of the top 100 artists of all time for Hot 100 singles chart success. In October 2015, they were also ranked on the same list but at number 15. So far, the band has sold more than 40 million units in the United States, including 23 gold, 18 platinum, and eight multi-platinum albums.
They have had many hit records.
They won American Music Awards in 1977 and 1986 for "Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group." They have achieved many other awards and honors through the years.
Today Chicago consists of nine musicians. They originally had seven. Four of the original founding members are still with the band.
Fans of all ages enjoy performances by Chicago. The concert lasts around two hours with a short intermission. They do encores as well.
