Hamilton is a popular American historical fiction musical stage play as well as a musical drama film released by Disney. It was inspired by the biography of Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. The musical was written and produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also composed the music. Miranda has also performed in the production with the original principal Broadway cast and stars in the movie version of Hamilton. He has worked extensively with Disney over the years.

The musical has received many awards and has been enjoyed by millions of people in many different cities. It has had long runs on Broadway and played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Snyopsis of the story and the musical:
Divided in two acts, the musical depicts a dramatized account of the life and career of Alexander Hamilton, an orphaned immigrant from the Caribbean island of Nevis. The first act covers Hamilton's arrival in New York City in 1776, his work in the Continental Army as an aide-de-camp to General George Washington during the American Revolution, and his courtship and marriage to Eliza Schuyler. The second act covers Hamilton's postwar work as the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, his affair with Maria Reynolds, the death of his son Philip and finally his own death in a duel with Aaron Burr. Tickets are now available for performances to be held during February at the Eccles Theatre located at 131 South Main Street in Salt Lake City.

Performances of Hamilton had been scheduled for Salt Lake City during December 2020 and January 2021 but had to be put on hold because of the COVID pandemic which swept the world. Broadway in New York City suspended their many Broadway shows during that period as did other theatres throughout the United States. Many of the shows have now resumed and been rescheduled.

The Broadway performances are at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. The traveling cast will be performing in other major cities throughout the United States including Salt Lake City.

Tickets often sell out, but tickets are available now. Check out

For those who would rather not spend that much money on tickets for the live performances of the musical, it may be possible to view the movie version.
