Salt Lake City seems to be a place where people enjoy spooky events. There are haunted houses which are open for business only during certain times of the year. They open around Halloween or for special events and possibly when there is a Friday, the 13th on the calendar.

Those big buildings which are geared for Halloween fun appear to remain empty during much of the year. Do they earn enough during that short period to support an empty building for most of the year? That must be the case as Halloween is a popular time for spooky activities.

It is possible to discover and experience the darker side of Salt Lake City. Taking a spooky tour of some buildings in Utah's capital city, which claim to be haunted and frequented by ghosts, is an activity which is available throughout the year by making reservations. Visits can be arranged to mansions, train depots, buildings, and cemeteries where stories of ghosts will be presented.

The Salt Lake City Cemetery is in the hills above the city. Groups sometimes gather to clean up areas of the cemetery. The cemetery is a beautiful area which is not scary during the day.

It may be a different matter when darkness comes. There is a Cemetery Ghost Walk Tour where people are able to walk through the tombstones. They will learn about the so-called ghosts which continue to roam amongst the graves. Some people enjoy scary events and might like taking the cemetery ghost walk.

There are regular ghost walks scheduled during the month of October. Private tours or walks may be scheduled for groups of four or more at $20 per person. Some restrictions apply due to COVID.

The historic Whiskey Street Ghost Walk begins on the east side steps of the Courthouse and continues down Main Street to the Capital Theater (if time permits).

Learn about the great haunts and spooky places which hide in Salt Lake City. The guides will provide an enjoyable and scary experience for those who enjoy that type of adventure.

Details on the spooky tours may be found online or call 801-888-8551 to schedule a tour with four or more people.
