Take a break to spend time at the park
Parks are very popular places in the Summer, Spring, and Fall months. They can also be enjoyed during the Winter months. Even in places where there is often snow in the Winter such as in Salt Lake City, the cold weather can still be a time to enjoy parks. The snow melts, and the park is accessible for people to exercise and spend time outdoors.
Liberty Park in downtown Salt Lake City is in the heart of the city and is easy to access by car, bus, bicycle, or on foot. Many people are seen riding bicycles, jogging, or walking in the park during all seasons of the year.
There is a great children's play area where parents take their small children to give them the opportunity to play outdoors and get recreation as well as exercise.
People regularly take their dogs to Liberty Park to give them a walk or to throw balls to them for exercise. Dogs of all sizes may be seen enjoying the park and the outdoors.
There are many events held at Liberty Park throughout the year. Various groups reserve areas of the park to hold special gatherings. The Tracy Aviary and Botanical Garden is located within Liberty Park. It features over 400 birds of all types. People are able to get close to the birds and see daily feedings.
Picking up take out food for lunch or dinner at a nearby fast food restaurant makes it convenient to enjoy nature as you eat. You can drive to the park and enjoy nature as you eat. It may be necessary or advisable during the Winter months to stay in your car to eat. During warmer weather, there is plenty of grass on which to spread a blanket for a picnic lunch or dinner.
During the trying period of the COVID pandemic, parks are still good places to visit.
Liberty Park is a wonderful city park which may be accessed at 1300 South between 500 and 600 East or several other entrances.
