Utah Autumn Leaves are Beautiful at Big Cottonwood Candyon

There are many places to see the fall colors

A favorite activity in the Fall for many residents of Utah is to take a drive to see the Autumn leaves of yellow, orange, and red. There are many beautiful canyon areas which are a short drive from most people living in Utah. There are several canyons close to Salt Lake City which are very accessible and beautiful now that Fall has arrived.

One of the closest areas to Salt Lake City is Big Cottonwood Canyon and the Brighton Ski Resort. We took a drive up the canyon to see the Autumn leaves. There were lots of cars in the area with hikers enjoying the beautiful scenery and wonderful weather. There were also people who had taken a drive to the canyons to view the Autumn leaves. Many people were taking photos with their phones while a few had tripods and fancy cameras.

The contrast of the yellow against the green evergreen pine trees was very pretty. There were many quaking aspen trees in all their glory with yellow leaves galore.

The hillsides were beautiful with red and orange leaves on the trees covering the rocky mountains.

The canyons are beautiful at any time of the year. The mountains of Utah are amazing.

The evergreen trees are a perfect backdrop and accompaniment for the yellow leaves which are gracing the canyons.

Brighton Ski Resort was the end of the line in Big Cottonwood Canyon. They have already had some snow in that area. It won't be long before the ski lifts will be in full operation as skiers enjoy the snow and the slopes in that area.

Other areas close to Salt Lake City where the Autumn leaves are beautiful are: Little Cottonwood Canyon, Millcreek Canyon, and Park City. Not far away are: Provo Canyon and American Fork Canyon.

There are also likely to be many beautiful Autumn leaves and trees in your own neighborhood or a close by park. Perhaps your own yard has colorful leaves to enjoy. We don't have to go far to enjoy the beautiful colors of Fall.

For now, the Autumn leaves are beautiful. It is a ride well worth taking up Big Cottonwood Canyon or any other place to enjoy the beauty of the leaves and the comfort of the cool Fall weather.
