While the Veterans Administration doesn’t always make things easy for vets, they’ve got one good thing going for them- their app.
I admit I’m an app and software junkie. If it’s new, I’ll try it. Even my kids try to keep me up to date — no, I don’t understand a lot of what they send me.
However, this has nothing to do with newness or kids. This is all about my fellow Veterans of the US Armed Forces (and an app).
As I was looking through the VA site, I happened to see a link to the side noting there’s an app to check appointments and the likes. Checking it out on the Apple App Store, I find it’s got a 4.8/5 rating with over 5,000 reviews. Seems legit to me.
After downloading it, I can see why it has such a rating. It’s not because it’s flashy, quite the opposite. It’s super easy to use. Here’s what you’ll see (iOS):
That’s all there is to it. For me, that’s all I need for my casual use of the VA website. It’s straightforward.
The only drawback I see is the lack of push notifications; however, if you look in your setting (again, speaking on iOS) menu, you find there is nothing for the VA app. This is a good thing- they’re not asking for any mobile data on you (think location, usage statistics, carrier information, etc.). In fact, it’s probably one of the cleanest apps I have on my phone.
What it does do for you: it allows you to find the info you need easier with just a few clicks instead of logging in each time. Just open the app, and you’re there. Let me know what you think.
