On her Instagram profile, Nadia posted a message to her loving community all over the world, to give thanks for the sympathy she still receives, after almost fifty years of an amazing Gymnastics career.

Born in Onești, Bacău, România (in Eastern Europe), Nadia is the first gymnast in the world to receive a grade of ten in an Olympic gymnastics competition.
At the same Games (1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal), she received six more perfect 10s, winning three gold medals.
At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Comăneci won two more gold medals and attained two more perfect 10s.
During her career, Comăneci won nine Olympic medals and four World Artistic Gymnastics Championship medals.
Comăneci is one of the world's best-known gymnasts and is credited with popularizing the sport around the globe.
She is considered to be one of the best sportswomen of the twentieth century and one of the best gymnasts in the world, of all time, "Goddess of Montreal", the first gymnast of the modern era who received a perfect10.

Comăneci has lived in the United States since 1989 when she left then-Communist Romania before its revolution in December that year.
She later worked with and married American Olympic, gold-medal gymnast Bart Conner.
In 2001 she became a naturalized United States citizen and has dual citizenship, also maintaining her Romanian citizenship.
Nadia is very loved in her native country, many projects and initiatives in the sports world and not only, being named after her and held in her honor.
