If you haven’t heard about the feature film currently filming in the Tampa/Clearwater area you will. In fact, when restaurateur Luanne Haver got the call from the production she knew she wanted to be a part of it. Stirling Wine, Dunedin's premier wine bar, has been selected as a location site for the local film, “Women Want Everything!”
Stirling Wine, established in 2005 has been an anchor business in delightful downtown Dunedin. It has evolved from a wine-themed gift shop to the best spot in town for a glass of wine, shareable plates, and gourmet flatbreads. In addition, Stirling Wine offers the largest locals-only Wine Club program in the area featuring over 150 wines, 4 large Quarterly Wine Tasting events as well as weekly and monthly tastings that feature boutique wines from around the world. Proudly voted “Tampa Bay Times Best of the Best People's Choice award for Best Live Music Bar,” Stirling Wine offers live music nightly featuring top area musicians as well as touring artists looking for an intimate "listening room" space to showcase original music.
A location scout contacted owner Luanne Haver to inquire about possible space usage in September to which she happily agreed. "Stirling Wine offers the romantic, upscale and casual backdrop the production company was looking for to film a scene in their feature-length comedy. We are happy to lend our space and look forward to working with their team!" She stated.
“Women Want Everything,” is an adaptation of the play written, produced, and directed by local filmmaker Rod Grant. It played at the Straz to a sold-out show back in 2009. A comedy showcasing four male misfits trying desperately to figure out just what it is women want in order to be happy and failing hilariously.
It will be in production through mid-October and released on VOD/DVD mid-next year. Mr. Grant added, "I just love making people laugh and am hoping the success of the play transfers over to the big screen." Ms. Haver looks forward to the day of production and she also wants to continue to bring good food, a good atmosphere, and good tidings to the local community.
So if you haven’t tried Stirling Wine yet (located at 461 Main St, Dunedin) give it a shot! You won’t be disappointed! You just might look up and find yourself in a major motion picture!
