Elizabeth was studying in Australia in 2012 when she decided to stay at a hostel for one night. When she came back from the bathroom, she saw a big, scary-looking man walking down the hall. He was not wearing any shoes.
Feeling scared, Elizabeth went back into the bathroom stall and shut the door. She heard the man come in the bathroom and turn on all the faucets and showers, as if he were trying to muffle what he was going to do next. Leaning down to look out from under the stall, she saw the man on all fours looking back at her. He then went to a corner in the bathroom where she could not see him.
Elizabeth started to pray, asking God to protect her and prevent whatever this man was planning to do. She put her hands on the stall door and started praying, feeling God's presence with her. Then she heard someone come to the door, and the man ran to the door to hold it shut.
Feeling both scared and comforted by God's presence, Elizabeth started to pray for the man, asking God to let him know he was loved. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the man opened and shut the door to the bathroom.
Elizabeth, knowing that the man didn't leave, but was trying to trick her into thinking he left, she pretended to talk on the phone, asked whoever was at the door to go to the reception desk for help.
Not even five minutes later, she heard the door open close and so she sat there waiting to see if he was really gone, then again she hears the door open to the bathroom and then the stall door opened next to her. She looked down and saw a woman's feet in the stall next to her.
She ran out crying to the reception desk, and the man who was in the bathroom was caught on camera fleeing the location.
A week later, Elizabeth received an email from the receptionist with the police report. The man was asked why he was in the bathroom for two and a half hours and did not do anything, and he said he felt as though there was something blocking him from getting her.
Elizabeth knew that it was God who had protected her and rescued her from the man's potential harm. She was overwhelmed with gratitude to know that, despite being in a scary situation, God had been there with her and guided her to safety.
