A California witness at San Diego reported watching and photographing a falling fireball in the sky that broke up into five pieces that began hovering and then moving away along the nearby harbor at 6:46 p.m. on October 27, 2023, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
The witness was outside walking a dog near the entrance to her gated building entrance in a cul-de-sac in Banker's Hill. She walked towards the gate, facing southwest towards San Diego Harbor, and noticed what appeared to be a meteor falling in the sky.
“It was very bright and falling more slowly than I would have imagined a meteor to fall and I kept staring at it in awe as it continued its descent in the night sky,” the reporting witness stated. “I had watched for about 30 seconds and yelled to my neighbor who was also walking her dog to look up in the sky.”
The witness then began shooting video.
“The tail of fire had begun to descend beyond my line of sight due to the tree line ahead but just as it neared the tops of the trees, the fire separated out into five rays of falling light and then began moving into a more horizontal formation which clearly became five separate hovering orbs of light.”
The witness then observed that four of the orbs began moving west across the harbor and one orb can be seen moving west and then shifting towards the east.
“I ran down the street to get to a place with an unobstructed view of the harbor and only one orb remained for a brief moment before disappearing towards the south.”
The witness was able to capture two videos. The objects quickly moved away and disappeared from sight.
The witness included two videos with the report, which was filed on October 27, 2023, and posted for public viewing on October 28, 2023. Please remember that most UFO sightings can be explained as something natural or manmade until an investigation is completed. San Diego is in southern California, population of over 1.3 million residents.
