Looking Back On 2022
A California witness at Salton City reported watching 13 bright, amber-colored, lighted objects moving overhead at 10 p.m. on March 30, 2022, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
The report indicates that the witness was driving and pulled over as the objects first came into view.
“We were very close, probably within a mile or two, and they appeared to be coming towards us and got larger,” the reporting witness stated. "My friend and I witnessed approximately 13 very bright amber-yellow, round lights that held in a hover position and then changed formation."
The report states that the witness is a private pilot and was unable to hear "an engine or rotor wash."
“They appeared to be hovering but then in a very quick manner, of the 13, four of them burned out instantly or just disappeared or vanished and then there was a linear chain that went on a right-degree angle all in a line at about a 45-degree angle.”
The witness observed in the report that the objects then “quickly turned into two triangles,” one on top of the other point-to-point, one inverted, and one normal, but then they went back to a formation.
“That reminded me of the Air Force flying over the channel in World War II – kind of staggered on top of each other in a wingman formation.”
The report described how two of the objects then disappeared or “the lights just went out” and the objects got really small as they headed eastbound. One by one they each disappeared.
“Very, very, surreal and bizarre.”
An investigator would be aware that the witness is a private pilot and is most likely familiar with Chinese lanterns in hopes of ruling them out. The objects would have to move against the wind and appear to be intelligently controlled to be classified as unknown.
The submitted photo is very unclear. There are blurs of light which may be the objects the witness was seeing.

Historic California
A California witness at Sacramento recalled an encounter with a silver-colored, cylinder-shaped object at 6:15 p.m. on June 15, 1963, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
The report indicates that the witness was sitting on a front porch with a niece. The event date is approximate.
“I felt someone was watching us,” the reporting witness stated. “We looked straight above us and saw a large craft hovering.”
As the two watched, the object began moving down, and as it did, the witness said “it was turning slowly at the same time.”
“It was the shape of a cylinder and silver in color, and it was all lit up with a light that came from all over the craft. I couldn't see where the light was coming from. The whole craft was light.”
The two were so frightened, the report indicates, that they “jumped up from the step they were sitting on and turned to run in the front door.”
But they were unable to do so.
“We were frozen in place and couldn't move for a short time it seemed. I could move my eyes, but that was all. I saw my niece beside me frozen too.”
The report then states that “it released us and we ran into the house.”
When the two went inside, the witness’s sister made the comment that they had been outside a long time.
“To us, it seemed we had only been out there a few minutes.”
The MUFON witness database includes thousands of cases where the witness perceives missing time during an unknown object event. These are in much lower numbers when you look at the larger database.
