Looking Back On 2022

A New York witness at Wappingers Falls reported watching a blue light making “jerking motions” crossing the night sky at 10:10 p.m. on March 29, 2022, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The report details the witness driving home when a “blue glow” was noticed moving slowly in the sky.

“Looked blue in color and seemed to glow,” the reporting witness stated. “Moved slowly but made jerky movements up and down and side to side.”

The witness took a photo and a video with an iPhone 11 and zoomed in on the blue light.

The up-and-down and side-to-side movement that the witness reports are very common in UFO reports, according to witness data over the past few decades. Investigators prefer multiple images if possible, including photos that show what may be around the object. The "zoomed-in" images are not as helpful.

The report included one image, filed on March 29, 2022. Wappingers Falls is a village in the towns of Poughkeepsie and Wappinger, Dutchess County, population 5,522. Witness quotes were edited for clarity. Please report UFO activity to NUFORC or to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be resolved as something natural or man-made. These raw reports are for information only as investigators review the facts and attempt to resolve the case.

A New York witness at Buffalo recalled an encounter with an oval-shaped object moving around a natural gas storage tank at 9 p.m. on September 5, 1960, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The report details that the witness was born in 1945 and the experience occurred at age 15. The event date is approximate. The witness was sitting outside with a friend “on a cool autumn evening.”

“As the crow flies, it was about one-half mile away at the side of a large natural gas storage tank,” the reporting witness stated. “It was silent and to my amazement, it was all aglow and it seemed from where I stood that if there were molecules, they were swirling around it.”

The report statement includes the witness reporting that the object seemed like “some kind of energy.” The witness reasoned that the object did not “appear overly large,” and that it may have been "20 feet" in length.

“It hovered at the side of the tank, moved horizontally, and then it moved straight up to the top of the tank. And then at the top of the tank, it moved a small bit horizontally again, hovered, and then shot straight up into the night sky and disappeared.”

The witness said that the object “surprised” him due to the “precise movements” it made.

The friend ran home frightened.

“But I was just in awe.”

The report included no images, filed on September 5, 2005. Buffalo is the county seat of Erie County, population 278,349. Witness quotes were edited for clarity.
