A Wisconsin witness in rural Wisconsin recalled an encounter with a disc-shaped object emitting orange light at 5:30 p.m. on September 14, 1962, according to testimony from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The witness was with friends walking across a wooded area when an orange light in the sky was first noticed. The incident date is approximate.

“The light shone down on us and followed us until we were a half-mile or so from my parent’s house,” the reporting witness stated. “The disc was very close to us. We took some shots at it with shotguns. You could hear the pelts hit the craft.”

The witness said that the gunshots did not seem to cause a reaction from the object. The object continued following them for about a half-hour as they ran through the woods.

“It also made no sound. It just kept us in the middle of the light. You could see an outline of a round craft with the orange light in the middle.”

The witness report indicates that the object was first seen near dusk and when the object moved away, it was dark.

The report included no images, filed on April 12, 1999. Witness quotes were edited for clarity.
