If you're in the Hollywood or West Hollywood area and looking for something new for lunch or dinner, head over to my favorite place for good food, La Brea Avenue.

With the immense diversity of Los Angeles comes the opportunity to try all different sorts of cuisine, and La Brea is just packed with good options.

This short guide to the best restaurants to try on La Brea is intended to share a few of my own favorite places to eat and hopefully inspire you to try someplace new.

Mashti Malone's

Mashti Malone's is best known for their unique and exotic ice cream flavors. Visitors can sample their Creamy Rosewater, French Lavender, Ginger Rosewater, Herbal Snow Sorbet, Persian Cucumber, and Vegan Saffron Rosewater to name just a few.

For the less adventurous, they also have traditional flavors including Butter Pecan, Dulce de Leche, and Chocolate Chip. Those looking for non dairy options will have multiple sorbets to choose from.

You can enjoy your ice cream in a cup, on a cone or even under a slice of baklava. They also sell pints to take home your favorite flavors.

Mashti Malone's is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.

Pink's Hot Dogs

Pink's Hot Dogs is an LA institution recognized for its bright pink exterior and long lnes of adoring fans pouring out the door.

They serve delicious hot dogs and burgers with all sorts of toppings. They also serve sides of fries, onion rings, and chips. Veggie dogs are also available.

Pink's Hot Dogs is open Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Pink's is located at 709 N. La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038.

Wirtshaus German Restaurant and Beer Garden

Wirsthaus German Restaurant and Beer Garden serves fantastic traditional German cuisine and it's also a really fun place to hang out on the weekends. It gets a bit rowdy on occasion, but its always a great time.

Schnitzel and sausages are their most popular dishes and they also have an extensive German beer selection. For vegetarians, they serve veggie sausages with a variety of toppings.

Wirsthaus is open daily and hours vary.

Trejo's Tacos

Trejo's Tacos is the famous taco shop owned by actor Danny Trejo. They serve burritos, tacos, bowls and quesadillas with your choice of chicken tikka, baja fish, carnitas, steak asada, and more. Their street corn and empanadas are also delicious.

Vegetarians will be happy to know they have multiple veggie options as well including mushroom, jackfruit, and cauliflower. They also serve margaritas, cocktails, wine and beer.

Trejo's Tacos is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. You can find them at 1048 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, 90028.
