LACMA's modern art collection finds a new place.

LACMA is looking quite different from last year. The modern art collections have shuffled around, and a sizable chunk of the museum is now a construction site. The entire eastern half of the museum campus, home to much of the permanent collection, began to close in 2019.

The LACMA's new and renovated modern art collection is freshly arranged and has a re-imagined version. The museum opened approximately two weeks ago for public visitation with the art collection. The floor splits into two, one for modern art and another for contemporary. It's all arranged loosely for public view.

Piccaso's twenty works now occupy the entire gallery. His paintings are enthusiastic for art lovers, but his later period paintings can be a bit spicy for museumgoers. The museum reopens for the public from Sunday with all new decor and modern art.
