We Found the Perfect Hidden Stargazing Spot

Lathrop State Park in Southern Colorado is a great place to see the stars and a pretty good place for seeing the Milky Way at night. We spent two nights of our summer trip in this Bortle 3 location enjoying an epic stargazing experience. We discovered a secret spot behind our campsite with some interesting terrain, so we decided to set up the camera and enjoy it. The seclusion helped us avoid the light pollution coming from nearby RVers and their ground lights as we were shooting some astrophotography.

We are a family of hikers based in Dallas that love to travel frequently in our RV. We are on the road as often as possible and enjoy discovering alpine lakes, slot canyons, natural arches, and other interesting landforms all over the U.S. and sharing our adventures with everyone. When we explore our state of Texas, we always try discovering new local places the whole family will enjoy. This is the channel for you if you like hiking, camping, and photography related content.
