Try This Easy, Whale of a Good Hike in Canyonlands | Whale Rock

The Whale Rock hike in Canyonlands National Park's Island of the Sky section is a fantastic place to take the family. At just 0.8 miles long with 130 feet of elevation gain, everyone will enjoy easily traversing the back of this whale shaped rock. Views of this section of the park are excellent from the top! We are a family of hikers based in Dallas that love to travel frequently in our RV. We are on the road as often as possible and enjoy discovering alpine lakes, slot canyons, natural arches, and other interesting landforms all over the U.S. and sharing our adventures with everyone. When we explore our state of Texas, we always try discovering new local places the whole family will enjoy. If you like hiking, camping, and photography related content, please follow us!
