Fantastic Florida Fort You Probably Forgot About | Fort Matanzas

Fort Matanzas National Monument is great place to stop whenever you are in Northern Florida near Jacksonville. Built in 1742 to protect St. Augustine, this watchtower fortification is loaded with history. Take a short boat ride to the fort and enjoy touring this historic structure full of canons and other artifacts.
