An Excellent Colorado Hike Above the Million Dollar Highway | Neosho Mine and Bear Creek Falls

On the edge of the town of Ouray, Colorado is the Sutton Mine Trail which parallels the Million Dollar Highway. While hiking this trail, definitely stop at the fascinating Neosho Mine. There is a ton of history to be discovered at this site! The total distance round trip is 5 miles with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain on this uncrowded hike. This is a fantastic trail for anyone interested in a great overlook of the town of Ouray and nearby Bear Creek Falls. Try this one if you are looking for a beautiful fall hike with all of the aspens changing colors. We are a family of hikers based in Dallas that love to travel frequently in our RV. We are on the road as often as possible and enjoy discovering alpine lakes, slot canyons, natural arches, and other interesting landforms all over the U.S. and sharing our adventures with everyone. When we explore our state of Texas, we always try discovering new local places the whole family will enjoy. If you like hiking, camping, and photography related content, please follow us!
