A little known Colorado hike you need to do this fall! | Ironton Townsite and Colorado Boy Mine

We unexpectedly stumbled upon this hike while chasing fall foliage along Colorado's Million Dollar Highway. It well exceed our expectations! Located about halfway between Silverton and Ouray, Ironton Townsite is a fantastic ghost town with numerous preserved structures. By hiking less than a mile past the town, you can also see the interesting Colorado Boy mine. This trail is highly recommended since it is well maintained and has stunning views in the fall with all of the aspens changing colors. It's the perfect family hike! We are a family of hikers based in Dallas that love to travel frequently in our RV. We are on the road as often as possible and enjoy discovering alpine lakes, slot canyons, natural arches, and other interesting landforms all over the U.S. and sharing our adventures with everyone. When we explore our state of Texas, we always try discovering new local places the whole family will enjoy. If you like hiking, camping, and photography related content, please follow us!
