Ohio has 74 state parks. However, this list has the best state parks for camping in Ohio. Most of these parks allow pets in designated areas, have showers, electricity, a dump station, and laundry services. You can enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming or bike rials too.

Hocking Hills State Park, Logan

Before you can camp at night, you can enjoy the 25 miles of hiking trails around waterfalls, caves, cliffs, and gorges. There are sites for camping open all year round, and you do not need to make a reservation if it is not a group. For groups, you use a tent while 30 family walk-in sites with pit latrines on the park.

John Bryan State Park

There are 100 sites for amping that are partially shaded and have no electricity.

Maumee Bay State Park, Oregon

It is at 1400 State Park Rd, Oregon, OH 43616, on the shores of Lake Erie. There are three hiking trails, 18 hole golf course, and a campground with 256 sites. The campground has flush toilets, shower houses, playground equipment, and electricity. The campsites are for both RVs with 30-amp electric hookups and tents. You can also hike, fish, and bring your pet.

Delaware State Park, Delaware

This park is fantastic for camping, hiking, swimming, and boating. The campground has 214 sites for tents or RVs equipped with flush toilets, shower houses, a dump station, laundry facilities, and electricity.

You need to make a reservation for youth groups, and pets are only allowed in specific sites. You can reserve during the season Three Rent-A-Camp units with a picnic table, tent, and other equipment.

Rocky Fork State Park, Hillsboro

It is a perfect spot for camping and fishing. If you are lucky, you may catch a walleye or a bass. Boats are available for rent. Other than fishing, there is an 18-hole disc golf course in the South Beach area.

The park has two public beaches, six picnic areas with relaxing views of the lake, easy and short hiking trails, and 190 campsites suitable for tents and RVs.

There are 20 sites with full-service hookups and 130 sites with electric hookups are available. They equipped the campground with flush toilets, shower houses, a dump station, laundry facilities, campers' beach, camp store, and electricity. Pets are allowed in specific sites.
