I never thought I could have a deeper appreciation for my crock pot until I prepared these delectable candy turtles. This is such an easy and simple recipe to make. Your new best friend, the crock pot, does all the work for you, and the result is absolutely devine!

The gooey caramel and crunchy pecans are all nestled in a delicious, smooth, and decadent chocolate shell. I've always thought of my crock pot as one of my best kitchen tools for delicious dinners. I never gave my slow cooker much thought for desserts and candies. Needless to say, I'm completely rethinking my crock pot game. This, my friends, is an awesome crock pot recipe!

Prep Time: 10 minutes; Cook Time: 2 hours; Total Time: 2 hours, 10 minutes. Serves: 96 glorious pieces of candy


  • 4 C. of chopped pecans
  • 32 oz. of almond bark
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
  • 6 oz. bar of baking chocolate
  • 24 oz. unwrapped Rolo candies
  • Sprinkles, non-perils (optional but very festive for the holiday season!)

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  • Set your crock pot setting to low. Add in your pecans, almond bark, chocolate chips, and baking chocolate bar.

  • Allow your candy to melt for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Make sure you stir your mixture so everything gets well combined.

  • Next, line your cookie sheets with parchement paper and place your Rolos 2 inches apart on the parchement paper.
  • Using a tablespoon or a small scoop, dish up your chocolate pecan mixture from the slow cooker and pour over the top of your Rolo. Continue repeating this process until all Rolos are covered.

  • Then add your sprinkles or non-perils over the top. Allow your candies to cool until they are hardened.
