Prep Time: 15 minutes; Cook Time: 10 minutes; Servings: 30


  • 1 box of white cake mix (15.25-ounce box)
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp. peppermint or mint extract
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • green food coloring
  • 4 tbsp. of powered sugar
  • 3 tbsp. cornstarch
  • A red heart-shaped sprinkle or cinnamon candy.


  • Warm your oven to 375°F. Using parchment paper, line your cookie sheet. Set to the side.
  • Using a stand mixer, mix together the cake mix, softened butter, and large eggs until well combined.

  • Add in your peppermint (or mint) and vanilla extracts. Combine well, then add your green food coloring, a little at a time, until the desired color is reached. Your batter will be thick.
  • Using a small bowl, combine with a whisk your powdered sugar and cornstarch.
  • Using a 1 1/2-tbsp cookie scoop, scoop out your batter and roll it into a ball, then roll your cookie dough in the cornstarch or powdered sugar to coat. The cookie dough will be sticky. Add your cookies to your prepared baking sheet, about an inch apart.
  • Bake until your edges are set and the top of the cookies are set, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

  • As soon as your cookies are done, remove them from the oven and add your heart-shaped sprinkle. Gently press the sprinkle into your cookie so it sticks.
  • Cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to your wire rack to finish cooling.
