First things first.

You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for mom. Am I right?

So with Mother’s Day 2021 coming up on Sunday, the 9th of May, what better way to spend a day with mom than with some fine fare. There are a number of Mother’s Day specials being offered by San Antonio restaurants and businesses that promise to make your weekend extra memorable.

But for now, we're going to talk about food.

Good food.

We’ve compiled a list of nationally known restaurants as well as local favorites, for those looking to splurge or budget. There are options for everyone from 4-course meals that will keep you in luxury to fast food deals with great taste.

So without further ado, here are some San Antonio restaurants that mom will love (and so will you!)

My go-to place to eat at The pearl, Botika is a Peruvian-Asian restaurant with a bright and vibrant atmosphere that has you wondering why you haven't brought om here before.

The brainchild of Chef and Owner Geronimo Lopez, the menu was developed and based on his experience and travels throughout Asia and Latin America. That and being a South American native.

“Also at Pearl, Botika’s sleek, contemporary interior makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a stylish bar, so go ahead and sip on a Pisco Sour or Paloma Botika while you peruse the menu featuring Asian and Latin American flavors expertly paired by Chef Geronimo Lopez.” Marriott Bonvoy Traveler

Be sure to try the Lomo of the best ever.

Maverick Texas Brasserie

Known as both an everyday neighborhood hangout and a foodie's dream, Maverick is a destination for special occasions.

Especially Mother's Day.

You, mom and your family can order off the classic brunch menu, or go the special menu route. Maverick has specials including avocado toast and braised lamb, as well as true treats like a lemon curd tart and Mother’s Little Helper, a strawberry and peach bellini. Small plates or large, your choice, as you make memories over the open fire.

And if Mom loves flowers, we've got you covered.

Add a colorful floral arrangement to the table when you make your reservation.

The Good Kind Southtown

The vision of renowned chef, Tim the Girl, venture out to Southtown to treat mom to a special brunch on her day. The Good Kind makes fresh comfort food with only the freshest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, providing the San Antonio community with food that is clean, nourishing, sustainable, and delicious.

Basically, meals that are good for your body and good for the environment, and dare I say, good for your soul.

This family-friendly and dog-friendly spot will offer its full brunch and cocktail menus for Mother's Day. There will also be a DJ to complete the ambiance for the event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mimosa's anyone?

El Jarro de Arturo

One of my personal top picks for Mexican food is El Jarro.

With a brunch buffet on the special day, this family run Mexican eatery will open its dining room and patio to limited capacity so families can gather together and celebrate mom.

In addition to made-to-order omelettes, choose from chilaquiles, spiral ham, ranchero potatoes, refried beans, cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas, and a dessert bar with white chocolate bread pudding, Cuban flan, and strawberries with whipped cream.

Need I say more?

The buffet will be served from 10am to 2pm so be sure to reserve a table!

Steak. Who doesn't love a great steak and if this is you then Flemings is your place.

Make this Mother’s Day as special as she is with their 3-course menu featuring a hand-cut Filet Mignon paired with your choice of Crab-Stuffed Shrimp or Lobster Tail Scampi. O-M-G!

Make this Mother’s Day as special as she is at Flemings.

Ruth's Chris Steak House

Founded by a working mom with a family to support on her own, our founder, Ruth Fertel brought this place to life in the mid 1960s.

For mom's special day, once you grab your ticket then each mom will receive a Limited Edition Ruth’s Branded Wine Glass and a complimentary glass of Red, White or Sparkling Wine as a gift.

Sit back and enjoy the sizzle!

A San Antonio fav, mom deserves it.

Stop in at Boudro’s and order off the regular menu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., or go the

Offering a three-course route with your choice of lobster bisque, baby kale, and spinach salad, or pan-roasted red snapper...then sweet Poteet strawberries with warm cornmeal pound cake for desert.

The Melting Pot

Cheese, chocolate, and family. Mom already does so much for the family, now it’s our turn to show her how much she means to us.

What better than taking her to a San Antonio staple where you can chill and treat mom to the cheese and fondue experience.

Enjoy a four-course prix fixe experience for $49 per person. The fondue experts are bringing out both cheese and chocolate options, plus an entree and dessert. Don't forget the kiddos. Kids under 12 also have a 3-course option!
