Mark Peel, LA's famous chef and Co-Founder of Campanile and La Brea Bakery, died at 66. Mark was battling cancer for a very long time. He was one of the most influential chefs in LA. Mark established two restaurants, Campanile and La Brea Bakery, in 1990 and 2010.
Peel began working at Ma Maison under Wolfgang Puck. One of his all-time legacies is Campanile. He founded Campanile with his then-wife, Nancy Silverton, in 1989. Campanile was one of the prime examples of Californian cuisine.
LA Times critic Jonathon Gold hailed Campanile as LA's best restaurant. After a few months, Peel and Silverton opened La Brew Bakery, which grew into one of the most famous Artisan Bakery in the US.
Gold also said that it is hard to state Campanile and Mark Peel's contribution to American Cuisine. Campanile is one of the finest restaurants in LA.
