At NewsBreak, I write a lot about the massive Walmart corporation. Most of my recent writings have discussed the impending closures of pick-up and delivery centres as well as a wave of stores.
Many sources have recently reported that a significant Washington, D.C. site, scheduled to close permanently on March 31, will have its pharmacy close one week sooner.
Let's look into it more.
According to a post from DCist.com, entitled "H Street's Walmart to Shut Next Month," pharmacy prescriptions will be moved to surrounding organisations.
According to a notice outside the store and confirmation from a Walmart representative, the Walmart Supercenter at 99 H Street NW will close on March 31. On March 17, the drugstore will close two weeks earlier. All prescriptions will be moved to new locations, and staff members will have the option of transferring to another neighbouring store.
The D.C. supercenter is one of the biggest in the country at 74,000 square feet. The shop is one of the 10 Walmart locations that have been announced as permanently closing this year, excluding pick-up and delivery services.
The study then addresses issues related to food: Food equity continues to be a priority, even though there will be setbacks along the way, according to a statement from the Deputy Mayor's office for Planning and Economic Development in D.C. And for that reason, Mayor Bowser developed resources like the Food Access Fund. We will also keep working with retailers to remedy any gaps.
This story is still developing. If there are any important changes to this situation, I'll post them on NewsBreak.
I appreciate you reading.
