Dubs bounce back in 2nd half – staying undefeated in OKC

On Tuesday, the Warriors gave the Thunder some slack in Oklahoma City, trailing by 11 at the half, while scoring 48 points. KNBR reports.

The now 4-0 Warriors beat OKC 106-98, the only team in the Western Conference to remain undefeated.

The Thunder, on the other hand, are now 0-4 losing every game by an average of 22 points.

However, the Warriors lagged both on offense and defense in the first half, missing a slew of open shots but the Dubs eventually snapped out of it.

Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins contributed 23 and 21 points by the end of the game, along with Damion Lee, who added another 20 points to the score, racking up double-figures in each game.

But it was the off-season acquisition Otto Porter who gave the Dubs the lead for the first time Tuesday night after sinking a catch-and-shoot three in the third quarter.

Immediately after, Porter switched to defense blocking a Aleksej Pokusevski layup, then running the floor to create another opportunity to sink a three from the corner. Porter quickly turned a one-point deficit into a five point lead. Read more of this story.

In addition, Beard Papa’s now also offers three new deserts, a Creme Brulee cream puff, chocolate fondant and cheesecake.

An exact date of when the new location is set to open has not yet been announced. Read more of this story.

Alameda County agrees to financing plan for Howard Terminal ballpark

The negotiations to build a new waterfront ballpark at the Howard Terminal got a boost Tuesday night after the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on a tentative deal that moves the plan one step closer to fruition, East Bay Times reports.

The non-binding agreement signals the county’s intent to join the City of Oakland in creating a financing district that would use funding from property taxes to build the infrastructure at the new ballpark such as public parks, affordable housing and other components necessary to the project.

The latest development comes amid months of painful negotiations against the backdrop of the A’s announcement that the franchise will leave Oakland once the team’s lease expires at the Oakland Coliseum in three years.

“Tonight’s vote by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors is a historic action that creates a clear path to keep the A’s rooted in Oakland and build a world-class waterfront ballpark district that will benefit Bay Area residents for generations to come,” Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf wrote in a statement issued after Tuesday’s vote.

Without the participation of the county, the project would lack the necessary funds to be completed. Oakland has been asking for the county’s support since the spring in joining the infrastructure financing district for the Howard Terminal Project, with the plan of funneling a portion of the property tax growth to the A’s over the course of the next 45 years.
