At the end of the day, Augusta National Golf Club's Magnolia Lane is a driveway. But don't let that fact fool you into thinking it's commonplace. In fact, Magnolia Lane might just be America's most iconic driveway.

Even those who have never picked up a golf club know the importance of The Masters within the sports community. For those would-be patrons lucky enough to secure badges for the tournament, Magnolia Lane is the first sign that they've made it.

Magnolia Lane is 330 yards long with 61 magnolia trees on each side. The trees -- and the golf course's legendary azalea flowers -- were planted in the 1850s by the Berckman family, who owned and operated the Fruitlands Nursery property that Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts eventually converted into August National.

The majestic drive invites members, professional players, and Masters patrons alike to take a breath, savor the moment, and appreciate all those who have walked down Magnolia Lane before.

And, it's the perfect inspiration for today's Masters cocktail.

What You Need:

  • 2 ounces bourbon (we used Jefferson's Ocean)
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 ounce half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup

What You Do:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well until the shaker is frosty.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass with ice OR a chilled cocktail glass. Enjoy!

This drink has just enough kick to pay tribute to the South's bourbon heritage, while still leaning into the light, springtime feel of magnolia trees in bloom. I'll be drinking it long after The Masters this year.

Have you ever visited Magnolia Lane?
