The Patriots Have Returned To The Playoffs Without Tom Brady & It’s All Because of Bill Belichick

“Players win games, and coaches lose them”. That has been a popular Bill Belichick answer when he’s standing on stage receiving the Lombardi Trophy, however it’s time for Bill Belichick to give himself some credit. The New England Patriots finished last season with a 7-9 record and fielded one of the worst rosters in the NFL. New England had terrible quarterback play from Cam Newton. Belichick got no contributions from his tight ends, and after Julian Edelman went down with an injury their receiving corps was way too thin. Belichick nailed free agency by signing Matthew Judon, Nelson Agholor, Jalen Mills, Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, and Kendrick Bourne. After spending $200 million on free agents, Belichick knocked the NFL Draft out of the park. He drafted Mac Jones in the first round, Christian Barmore in the second round, and Rhamondre Stevenson in the fourth round. The Patriots are 10-6 with one game remaining. They have clinched a playoff spot, he needs to bask in the glory.
