Are the Chiefs really that bad, or are they ready for a deep playoff run?

In a way the Kansas City Chiefs somewhat resemble the former New England Patriots. Kansas City is off to a bad 3-4 start, they sit near the bottom of the AFC West, and they need to leapfrog three other teams to secure the seventh playoff spot. Why do they resemble the old Patriots? Because it’s still difficult to really count the Chiefs out, no matter how bad it’s looking.
