Fast Food Fury: Florida Jack-In-The-Box Employee Shoots at Family For Pointing Out Missing Fries

Rachel Perkins

Houston, Texas – What started as a simple lunch outing turned into a terrifying encounter for a Florida family after an employee of a Houston-based Jack-In-The-Box reportedly shot at them following a dispute over curly fries.

A Lunch Date Gone Wrong

Anthony Ramos, a resident of Miami, along with his then-pregnant wife Jeraldin Ospina, and their young daughter, visited the popular fast-food outlet in March 2021. With the simple intention of ordering a meal inclusive of curly fries, the family couldn't have anticipated the horror that was about to unfold.

Upon realizing their order was missing the curly fries, Ramos courteously inquired about the oversight with employee Alonniea Ford. Despite the order having been paid for, Ford allegedly not only declined to fulfill it but also responded with hostility.

Escalation to Violence

As tensions mounted and the family sought intervention from a managerial figure, the situation escalated dramatically. Ford's reaction was nothing short of extreme, as court documents reveal her hurling expletives, ketchup packets, ice, and other items at the Ramos family's car. However, the climax of this violent outburst came when Ford reportedly retrieved a firearm and discharged it at the family's vehicle as they hastily retreated from the scene.

Ford was later apprehended and initially charged with deadly conduct with a firearm. As legal proceedings progressed, her charge was amended to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, to which she conceded guilt in June 2022.

A Call for Action

Reacting to this alarming event, the family's attorney, Randall Kallinen, expressed deep concern about the level of aggression and violence in such scenarios. He emphasized the responsibility establishments like Jack-In-The-Box bear. "There's an urgent need for background checks on employees to safeguard patrons," Kallinen remarked, drawing attention to the increasing incidents of inexplicable rage.

With this harrowing ordeal behind them, the Ramos family hopes their experience serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of aggression and the importance of safety protocols in public establishments.
