I know as a twenty-something living in New York City - it is crazy expensive! Sometimes it feels like everything in the city costs twice as much as it would outside of the city. I get that everything being so expensive is just part of the price of getting to live in one of the coolest places in the world. However, this means that I usually have myself on a pretty strict budget. While occasionally I like to treat myself to a nice dinner out with friends, I certainly can’t afford to do that on a regular basis.
So instead, I like to hunt for great deals in the city. Whether it’s a great restaurant with super cheap prices, a cool new thrift shop with amazing deals, or my personal favorite - a great happy hour! There is nothing better than getting a great deal on some delicious drinks, especially in a city where just one cocktail could cost you up to $20! So I am rounding up some of my favorite happy hour deals! Even if you aren’t on a tight budget like me, you still just can’t pass up some of these incredible happy hour specials!
So here are some great happy hour deals that you can find right in New York City:
Porchlight
First up is Porchlight, a southern inspired restaurant located in Union Square. This bar is a New York City bar with southern roots. They’ve got tons of delicious southern inspired cuisine, like hush puppies, po’boy sandwiches, fried oysters, and more! Their happy hour deal is on Tuesdays - Saturdays from 3-7 pm. During this time they serve $11 cocktails, $6 beers, and a $5 flask of punch!
Malibu Farm
Next up located on Pier 17 in Seaport is Malibu Farm. This gorgeous restaurant serves farm to table food - aimed to give you simple and fresh ingredients turned into delicious meals! They also have some incredible views of the city - very instagram worthy! Their happy hour is Monday - Friday from 4-6 pm, where you can get $10 signature cocktails and great deals on small sharing plates too!
Mister Paradise
Mister Paradise is another great restaurant located in the East Village. This place is a chic and modern New York bar. They’ve got a funky vibe with incredible food and cocktails! Mister Paradise serves happy hour from 5-6 pm most days, and during this time, you can get $9 cocktails, $4 beer, $35 bottle of rose, and of course we can’t forget the $9 burger to go with your drink specials!
Clinton Hall
I also love Clinton Hall for a nice happy hour! They have several locations throughout New York City (and one coming soon in Staten Island), in the Financial District, Williamsburg, 36th St, 51st St, and one location in the Bronx. They are all about burgers and beer! They have a specially curated craft beer menu that is constantly changing, so you can always try something different! Their happy hour is Monday - Tuesday from 2-6 pm and Wednesday - Friday from 12-6 pm. Their happy hour specials include $6 draft beer and $8 cocktails and wine!
Fresh Salt
And last but certainly not least - a great neighborhood spot that so many locals love, Fresh Salt. This place is located in the financial district of Manhattan, and they’ve got craft ales, delicious sandwiches, snacks and more! Their happy hour is served daily from 4-8 pm and they have $5-$6 draft beers and $6 house liquor and wine, as well as great deals on small snacks and appetizers.
