I’m sure if you’ve been on the internet for any amount of time you’ve seen tons and tons of photos whether it be on Pinterest, Instagram ,Twitter, etc. of the “off duty model”. This is such a popular look that it seems like everyone these days wants to master. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, the off duty model look is just an effortlessly chic, yet casual look that you often see models and celebrities wearing in their off duty photos.

It can seem like it may be impossible to look like a model (even an off duty one), but trust me when I say these looks are so easy to pull off - literally anyone can do it! It’s all about owning the right pieces and styling them in a casual yet chic way. So here are 10 pieces that you need in your closet to be able to instantly throw together the perfect off duty model look!

Boyfriend Jeans

One item I literally always see models wearing are boyfriend jeans. Boyfriend jeans are all about a looser fitting more casual vibe than a skinny jean or even a straight leg jean. Boyfriend jeans are perfect for an “off duty” look because they are nice and relaxed and give off a very casual vibe. Boyfriend jeans are also super easy to style - whether it’s with a crop top, a basic tee, an oversized hoodie, the options are really endless. I love that off duty model looks often play with proportions and boyfriend jeans are the perfect pieces to add some volume to the lower half of your outfit - and be super comfy and casual, yet still looking SO chic. White Button Down

This next piece is not only just an essential for creating the perfect off duty model look, but really just an essential for any wardrobe. The styling options for a basic white button down are just endless, but when it comes to an off duty model look, a slightly oversized button down is ideal. You can wear it loosely tucked, or just the side or front portion tucked, completely untucked, unbuttoned with a crop top underneath… like I said the options are seriously endless. But it’s definitely necessary to create a perfect casual and put together look. (Image)

Graphic Tee

Next up we’ve got the graphic tee. I am a huge fan of graphic tees - I own like a thousand of them. And the reason for that is because they are so popular, and instantly make any outfit look super cool. I love to add a graphic tee to a basic outfit to give it a little bit of edge, and make my outfit more interesting. I often see off duty model look styling graphic tees with jeans, or even a pair of tailored trousers (just to make them a little more casual). Again, lots of different styling options with a graphic tee, and they are just so much fun to wear! (Image)

Trench Coat

Then of course we have the trench coat. I love a good trench coat - they always look chic. If you are unsure about an outfit, you can literally just throw a trench coat over top of it and it will instantly look great - I promise! Trench coats look great over a dress or skirt with heels or with jeans and a tee shirt with sneakers. Trenches are just one of those pieces that everyone should have in their closet, because it’s just a great basic piece that will never go out of style, and a classic, timeless piece will give you the perfect model look. Jumpsuit

The jumpsuit is another great piece to own to quickly be able to create your own off duty model look. Jumpsuits have been super trendy in recent years, so they are super easy to find in stores. Especially in the spring and summer, I am constantly seeing jumpsuits in stores and online, so if you don’t already own at least one jumpsuit - definitely invest in one now! Jumpsuits are super great for an off duty model look because they are so easy and effortless. All you have to do is throw on one piece of clothing and then boom! You’ve got a perfect chic and cute look. (Image)

Oversize Blazer

Now, I know I’ve talked about blazers in a lot of my recent fashion related posts, but blazers are one of those pieces that I just LOVE. You can just never go wrong with a blazer, and similarly to the trench coat - it’s a classic timeless piece that will never go out of style. Blazers give off such an effortlessly chic look that just screams off duty model, and make it an oversized blazer and you’ve completely nailed the look. (Image)

Chic Lounge Set

The next piece that you need in your wardrobe to achieve the off duty model look is really two pieces - a chic lounge set. Not only have lounge sets in general become super on trend (thanks covid), but these chic lounge sets have become so popular recently. Anything that is made of a luxurious material, like satin, silk, leather, is going to instantly take your lounge wear to the next level and make you look so effortlessly chic. (Image)

Leather Moto Jacket

And I can’t even think about making a post about models off duty street style without mentioning the leather moto jacket. This is such a staple. I think every single model owns at least one leather moto jacket because it’s just so edgy and stylish - you just can’t go wrong. A leather jacket is a piece that will go with pretty much any look, a flow dress, jeans and a tee, a jumpsuit - literally anything will look good with a leather moto jacket! (Image)

Slouchy Cardigan

Next up we have another super on trend item right now - a slouchy cardigan. Again, thanks to covid the loungewear trend of comfy and cozy is still super strong, and slouchy cardigans fit the bill perfectly. A slouchy cardigan is the perfect addition to any outfit to give you not only comfort and coziness but also make your outfit look super cute. (Image)

Hoodie

And lastly, we’ve come to the hoodie. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a nice oversized hoodie, because they are just so comfy and cozy. They key to looking chic in an oversized hoodie is all about what you pair it with - whether it’s loose fitting boyfriend jeans, a blazer, heels, over the knee boots - all of these options will instantly give you an off duty model appearance!
