Unfortunately, since the pandemic began about a year ago, students at Oklahoma State University and Stillwater residents will be sad to know that some of their favorite eateries have closed for good.

Among those that have shut their doors for the last time include favorite places for dessert, great date night locations, quick fast food, and authentic non-chain eateries. Each one is a significant loss to the community, and it will be a while before these venues are replaced with other restaurants of similar quality.

Orange Leaf

Although Orange Leaf was well-loved and had a nice location off Main Street, especially for game days, it has closed permanently, according to a quick Google search. This frozen yogurt shop holds many wonderful memories of celebrations and fun nights out for Stillwegians, and it's closure will be felt across all age groups.

An Oklahoma favorite, Orange Leaf devotees can get their fix at a location in Mustang, Oklahoma at 127 E State Hwy 152. Other locations in the Oklahoma City metro area appear to be temporarily closed.

TS Fork

TS Fork was a farm to table concept, offering fresh, local food with a set menu that changed every two weeks. It was the perfect date night or special event eatery.

Unfortunately, the Stillwater location did not make it through the pandemic. However, fans of the food can find it at the restaurant's other location at 100 W Grand Ave, Tonkawa, OK, roughly an hour from Stillwater. Once things are back to normal, it will be worth the drive to check it out.

Jack In The Box

This chain fast food restaurant recently closed permanently, leaving several people surprised. Offering a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner located just off Hall of Fame avenue, its closure will be felt by those who frequented it often or even occasionally.

The nearest Jack in the Box location is now in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 2108 W Danforth Rd Coe, which is about an hour away.

Pie Five

For fast-casual pizza, Pie Five was hard to beat. Unfortunately for people who loved their individual pies, the location near OSU closed. After many wonderful lunches, dinners, and celebrations, Stillwegians will have to find somewhere else to get their individual pizza fix. Firo at 1004 N Boomer Rd. offers a similar concept.

The closest place to satisfy your Pie Five craving now is in Edmond at 1380 W Covell Rd Suite 156.

Bayou Bistreaux

A delicious and unique Cajun food restaurant in downtown Stillwater provided a different menu than most restaurants in the city. Unfortunately, it opened just months before the pandemic forced closures, and it wasn't able to sustain itself through the downturn. There aren't any other eateries like this one in the whole state.

For an authentic Cajun experience, try Burbon Street Cafe at 1004 N Boomer Rd. in Bricktown, Oklahoma City.

Firehouse Subs

Located close to campus off Sixth Street, this favorite for sandwiches is closed for good. The location's signs have been removed, and the tables and chairs are gone. The chain offered catering, eat-in, and to go, and Stillwegians will miss it as a tasty lunch or dinner option.

The nearest open location is an hour or so drive in Edmond at 1597 S Broadway.

New China Super Buffet

This buffet offering a wide variety of Chinese food is no longer open. Buffets seem to be particularly hurt amid the coronavirus pandemic due to the nature of each person using the buffet.

Students and residents can get their fix at Golden Dragon at 203 S Perkins Rd. or Boba Fusion at 211 N Perkins Rd. However, neither restaurant is a buffet.

Pizza Inn

Offering a pizza buffet, Pizza Inn actually opened its doors amid the pandemic. Unfortunately, it did not survive the downturn. The nearest location is now in Oklahoma City at 9101 N Council Rd. Another location may also open up soon in Enid, Oklahoma.
