Detectives are still searching for Monisha Sharae Leath, a missing woman out of Rome, Georgia, a city on the outskirts of Atlanta. The 32-year-old mother was last heard from on February 24, 2022. Jackie Leath, Monisha’s sister, says that when she tried to video chat with Monisha around 5:00 pm that same day, it was her husband that called back.

She would later tell officers,

He called me back on her line off the phone and was saying she was in the store.

She says, she immediately knew that something was wrong.

She continues,

It was like 6:30, I got a call from my niece's afterschool program. They were saying my sister did not come pick up the kids. She's like a best friend to her kids. They can talk to her about anything.

According to GBI, Monisha was last seen around 2 p.m. on Feb. 24 near the Floyd County/Polk County line. She is a black woman around 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 180 pounds with short brown hair. She has her right nostril pierced and a tattoo on her left hand.

As more time passes, Monisha’s family becomes increasingly more anxious for answers. Jackie advises that the family is continuing their search for Monisha.

We just want my sister home. The girls, they’re staying with me. They’re crying for their mom every night. She has her moments when she gets into her feelings, but we know she isn’t going to disappear by herself.

Jackie has stated on her Facebook page that her sister was contemplating leaving her husband. She discloses,

Where to begin ...yesterday morning til bout 2 pm is the last time I heard from my sister Monisha Sharae. This is not like her at all to go missing. She's a loving mother first and a caring independent woman. She met this dude that's in the top right-hand corner that goes by the name JOESPH JONES AKA JOE. Last year sometime they became lovers and just recently got married. Well, to come and find out they have been having problems, and I was telling my sister to let him go. To many red flags .so as of yesterday my sister Monisha have been missing. If anyone knows anything or where bouts please contact the ROME POLICE DEPARTMENT and the GBI Mr. Wilson. I’m asking to please keep my family and her three girls in prayers and help find My sister Moe. We are really hurting from inside and out. Please please, help find My sister

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Monisha, they are encouraged to contact the GBI at 1-800-597-TIPS or to simply call 911
